11/8/12
Yesterday my friend, Zitao, who was my classmate in primary school invited me to his brother’s birthday party. His brother was quite famous in our city as he was a great painter, he won the first price in a international competition and i really wanted to see his works~I hope he would allow me to > <.i was thinking probably i can ask him to give me one of his works as a gift then Qianhui laughed at me that it was his birthday not mine haha~Whatever,,i said yes immediately.
Today i went to his house with another friend of mine in the hostel, Jiaxin. She is a pretty and active girl. We arrived at about 7pm. Zitao’s sister give my a big hug when she saw me.~ She was once one of my best friends. A number of people came later. The party started at 7.30. We all felt very hungry so we began to barbecue. They prepared chicken, pork, squid and some vegetables such as mushrooms, potatoes and aubergines. What a wonderful meal! I have not barbecued for a long time since i came to Singapore. It was very nice to try it again. Their mother was very kind and she then served us a lot of wonderful deserts.
After dinner, we started to play games which were decided by Zitao and his sister. There were four games, you could choose whatever you want to play. I joined the “Words guessing” game. But i could not get the words within the set time so i had to be punished.= = I was asked to sing a song in front of everyone. Then they reminded me that i had not said happy birthday to his brother. So i sang “Happy Birthday” in different languages. His brother was very happy and told me that this was the most special gift for this year’s birthday. He heard that i loved his works and he gave one of them to me as return! This was a big surprise!
I came home at 2200, which was our curfew. Today was full of fun. i was very happy to have a brunch of friends like them to make my life more interesting and enjoyable.

There was a celebration held in our school for Singapore’s 47th birthday. On the way to school, i saw many people waring red and white T-shirts which were the colors of Singapore’s flag. It was very nice to see people doing this voluntarily to show their loves to their country. I felt glad that i was involved.
We were asked to come to school as usual. After the reading program, Valery’s mother went on the stage as the representation of the parents. She introduced to us a little bit of Singapore’s history and announced that the celebration started. The parents had prepared a lot of games for us. I first joined the “Zero Point”, which was a traditional game that you were asked to jump across the rubber band. I was not very good at sport and i could only jump to waist. Many of our PE teacher also played with us. Some of them could even three times as i could! They were so great! After that i went downstairs,  I saw a parent was writing calligraphy on Chinese traditional fans. That was interesting. I have learnt writing calligraphy for three years when i was five. But at that time i was too lazy to practise and which caused now my handwriting was not good haha~ I wrote “Happy Birthday, Singapore” on the fan she gave me. This was my best wish to Singapore. I was very grateful for what i have got here. She offered me a great opportunity to study. I have learnt a lot and i have improved a lot. I have got a lot of teachers who take care of me and teach me knowledge just like my parents. i have got many Singaporean friends here to support and encourage me. Because of her, i can came here and own all of this.
I really want to show my love to her, to this beautiful country.HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE! i wish you a great future ahead.

Today was a big day! Our show choir competition! On the early morning, Ms Ng posted “All the best” on the Facebook to cheer us up.
We arrived at ACS International at 10 o’clock. Then we started our rehearsal. We had went through the song like a millions times but we still felt very nervous. When we were on the stage for rehearsal, the stage managers needed to do some technical check. In fact that time all of us knew that we did not do well, but our instructors encouraged us not to give up and stay positive.
After lunch, we sit in a circle and practised the song again and again. I felt so wonderful at that time. I enjoyed the moment when everybody doing the same thing together and take care of each other. At p.m., some people came and help us do the makeup and hairstyle. After they finished mine, i went to help the boys. We did have a great time haha~ It was funny when i saw all the boys looked like ghosts~ Some of them shouted and screamed when they saw themselves in the mirror and some of them begged me not to put that thick. The whole room was full of laughter. What a enjoyable time!
Finally, the most nervous time came! It was our turn to be on the stage and perform our song. We hugged with each other and wished the others good luck. When the song began, we walked out the stage, the bright light shone on my body which made me feel that i was like a super star! I felt more inspired by the audience’s applause. We finished the song perfectly! Everyone was very excited. After that, we went back to the rest room to wait for the result to see if we could get in top three and perform our next song. All of us convinced that we could get in and started to change our costumes for the next song. Unfortunately, while we were changing, the stage manager came and told us that we were the forth. We were asked to collect the price instead of performing. Then, silence.
We were shocked and disappointed. i just could not believe this! I did not know what was the one first stood up and said,”hey guys! This is show choir! We joined this for fun but not the price! Come on!” Yeah, what he said was right. We love Show Choir because we love music, not because of the price.
None of us cried because we did our best, no matter what the result was. Besides, No.4 was not a bad one, we made it in such a short time! We should be proud of ourselves. We should not judge ourselves just by one competition. We left ACS International happily. This was a great experience for all of us. Tonight was perfect.

This morning we went out for running exercise AGAIN! I was dying when i finished it. OMG.!Every time after running my face would turn as red as a tomato!= = which made my quite embarrassing when they were talking about my damn face. But i was also happy about this because this meant that they did not treat me as a guest from other country any more. They are now regarded me as their friends and friends always make jokes at each other haha~
We had our Chinese Listening Comprehension exam for O’level this afternoon. I did not think I had done quite well in this exam and this did make me quite stressed. The questions were very tricky and i thought they meant the same thing= =..So i just put the answer which i though was the best one. However, when i walked out of the exam room, i heard some of my dear classmate were checking answers with each other. Then they came to ask me and I found ours were totally different!! I felt petrified at that time..But I just kept comforting myself maybe mine was correct..Anyway, this exam was done and i could not change the result. I should give more effort on what I am going to do. This Chinese written exam is in November, and that will be a good chance for me to get more points because composition is my strength.
I am feeling very sleepy now and my roommate is busy talking with her mom via QQ. Ok..I am going to ignore her and go to bed~haha~Good night,,

Today i had done my book presentation~haha~I was quite nervous because i was afraid that i might not be able to do it well. I loved the two books which i read during the holiday so much and i really wanted to share my feelings to them. I hoped they would also like it and they would be willing to go and read it after listening my presentation. But everything turned out to be just nice although of cause there was something not so perfect. I was so happy when Ms Kaur said i had done a good job. In fact, I did prepare this for a long time. When i was trying to show them the video. The boys began to chit-chat, and which made me quite upset.Anyway, I had done what i wanted to do and this was perfect to me because this made me think that my effort was not a waste.
In the past, i would not read if the it is not compulsory. Actually, this time was also compulsory because we were asked to do our book presentation. But after reading there two books, I found that reading was really interesting. Maybe it is because what Mr Kaur has recommended were famous classic books. I should read more widely especially when i am still learning a new language. Reading is the best way to gain more vocabulary and learn the culture. People always say that learning a language is not just about the language itself but as well as the culture behind it. I am able to get all this through reading. I am trying to keep this as a habit. I believe this will benefit my whole life.

With the widespread of the Internet, there have appeared many online dating. The lovers meet over the Internet, date on the net and finally fall in love with each other. People’s opinions on it vary greatly.

Some people think online love is very romantic and exciting. It is an amazing thing that the Internet brings together two strange persons far away from each other. Moreover, they think that online romance, compared with realistic love, attaches more emphasis on the appeal to each other in spirit and involves less material conditions. However, many others think differently. In their eyes, the Internet is a virtual world, on which there impossibly exist real, enduring love since it is very difficult to tell the real from the fake by the Internet. Besides, they argue that pursuing online romance is sometimes very dangerous because there are many cheaters on the net.

As far as I am concerned, it is an easy and fast way for people to meet new people by the Internet. However, people should have more protection and safety consciousness when making friends by the Internet. Don’t give out rashly your personal information to strangers on the net. And keep it in your mind that you should have more realistic knowledge of each other before starting a date.

There is a growing tendency nowadays that children in mounting numbers own mobile phones. Does anyone hold the same attitude towards this phenomenon? Definitely not. Actually, opinions are quite different from person to person.

Some emphasize the merits of children’s using mobile phones, they thought that children can contact with their parents or friends conveniently especially when they are confronted with difficulties or dangers. Moreover, mobile phones equipped with various interesting games are also a convenient source of recreation and relaxation  for children who have been under an huge pressures from an overload of studies. On the contrary, a majority of people hold that mobile phones are detrimental to children. For one thing, children’s being addicted to mobile phones is nothing but a waste of their precious and limited time, which will definitely interfere with their studies. Additionally, radiation from mobile phone will exert a detrimental impact on children’s body health.

From my perspective,it is not advisable that children below 10 should bring mobile phones. It is unbelievable that some students carry mobile phones just for the purpose of killing their precious time instead of keeping in touch with their parents regularly. The supposed helpful tool has become harmful. Accordingly, children should concentrate their time and energy on studies, those which might become distractions should not be introduced to them.
